Making the Foster Care Experience Better Entering the foster care system can be a stressful and scary time for children. Foster children are frequently moved from one home to another during a crisis with only the clothes on their backs. Today, the Hilltoppers Auxiliary provides emergency clothing and necessities to children referred by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). These supplies are distributed through the Foster Children's Resource Center (FCRC) located in the San Fernando Valley. Our center gives each child new school clothing, a jacket, pajamas, socks, underwear, personal care items, a backpack, school supplies, a book, and a toy. Each child is given personal attention and treated with dignity and respect, helping them to feel special. Social workers, foster parents and family members report that after visiting the Center, children experience a boost in self-esteem and improved school attendance and performance. Foster Children's Resource Center is financially supported through donations, foundation grants, and the generosity of the Hilltoppers auxiliary. jessica.farias@invitedubs.com | 818.360.1071 x 2132 Thank You For Making a Difference
